Inhalation is the cooler part of the cycle; with both valved and unvalved respirators, 3M’s Advanced Electret (Filter) Media (AEM) Safety Face Mask allows easy inhalation of the cooler external air through the respirator. As the wearer inhales, the air is pulled through the respirator and surface temperature decreases. The valve’s plastic cover retains some of the heat due to the composition of the material.

 

Exhalation: As the wearer exhales the respirator is filled with warm, moist air. The cooler thermal imaging shades how the respirator fitted with the Cool Flow™ Comfort Valve allows the air, together with its natural heat, to be expelled more rapidly. As the hot exhaled air exits through the valve, the rest of the respirator remains cooler and more comfortable. This benefit of the Safety Face Mask is ideal for long periods of wear, especially where conditions are hot and humid or when work is physically demanding and likely to cause heavy breathing.

 

The new 3M Safety Face Mask is easier to position.  The new, innovative tabs on the upper and lower panels of the respirator, along with the new ‘grip’ feature on the valve, enable easier opening of the respirator to simplify the positioning and adjustment on the face. Just quick advice, make sure that you have the right filters and pods for dust, vapors, etc. Don’t use anything too harsh to clean the visor it’ll cloud over,
